Resetting Microsoft CRM 4.0 Fiscal Year Settings .

Resetting Microsoft CRM 4.0 Fiscal Year Settings .

In preparing for a recent report project and the previous post on Fiscal Year Settings, I needed to test / modify the fiscal year settings in my CRM 4.0 VPC several times. Since once set, the fiscal year settings in Microsoft CRM are not modifiable, my option was to set up multiple new organizations within the VPC or re-extract a fresh image over and over – clearly not a productive afternoon. – So I resorted to what I’m adamant that users mustn’t do, I opened up a can of SQL on my VPC.

If you’re needing to develop reports / test the fiscal year settings in a virtual environment before pulling the trigger on implementing them in production, this method will allow you to test various options.

Here’s the script I used to re-set the fiscal year settings to their pre-modified or “Un-updated” state in my dev environment.

Update OrganizationBase
Set FiscalSettingsUpdated  =  0,
FiscalYearFormat  =  ,
FiscalPeriodFormat  =  ,
FiscalYearPeriodConnect  =  ,
FiscalPeriodType  =  0,
FiscalCalendarStart  =  NULL,
FiscalYearDisplayCode  =  NULL,
IsFiscalPeriodMonthBased  =  0
